Before investing in the yacht of your dreams you will want to make sure that it is in good condition.
Therefore it is essential to survey the yacht on various technical items and documents.

Pre-Purchase survey

A pre-purchase survey will give you a clear overview on the condition of the yacht, any critical defects and potential future maintenance.

Examples of items which will be checked during the survey:

• Hull below the waterline, incl. osmosis inspection on GRP hulls
• Steel thickness measurements;
• The inside of the hull including tanks and bulkheads;
• Deck and superstructure;
• Rigging and sails;
• Engine(s) and generator(s);
• Technical installation;
• Electrical installation;
• Navigation equipment;
• Steering system;
• Liquid gas installation;
• Rescue and safety equipment;
• Sea trial;
• CE- and the owners documents;
• Partial survey of the above mention items can be done by agreement.

The pre-purchase survey is completed with a report giving an overview of all technical aspects of the vessel and our final opinion.

The survey reports can be produced in multiple languages (Dutch, English and German) and will be sent by e-mail in pdf format. If you would rather receive a paper version we are very happy to supply one for you.

Critical defects

The conclusion of the pre-purchase survey report will be in two parts: findings and critical defects .

Findings in general are small issues that are easy to solve. For example interior lightbulbs or scratches in the paintwork.
Critical defects are parts that are broken or items that need to be replaced to ensure good and safe functioning of the yacht and can involve high cost in repair or replacement.

Critical defects will always be discussed with the selling party (broker or private seller)
